Zeba Cooper de Wenning
In this Macro series I started to explore the minute details of images of my previous abstract paintings - and brought them into life in their own right. After the first few paintings, the inspiration started to come from within and didn't need an outside stimulant. The fantasy DNA images convey to me new beginnings; delving down into the very heart of being. Maybe these evolved because I was about to become a grandmother for the first time! The 'drip' technique takes me in an altogether different place - all it needs is imagination in abundance!
No words - just the flowers!! well....I'll try but can't promise!
Sympathetically photographed (well, mostly!) and painted (definitely!) by Zeba into splendid graphic portraits - each one showcases character and emotion.
I am not sure whether it is a strength or weakness that I paint in so many styles - I am open to comments!
The artist, residing in Ibiza, Spain, combines in her paintings her most passionate interests - color and spirituality. "As a child I was brought up on a farm in Bridport, Dorset, Uk, and this has developed a lasting love of nature."

These paintings celebrated my 60th birthday which coincided with the Florence Biennale 2007, in December. On the 7th we set up a table laden with champagne and for one hour we had a 'living painting'! It was a huge success. Here is an extract from an email sent to me by the American art critic Edward Rubin. '.....thanks so much for your wonderful birthday party. I loved your entire Florence Biennale presentation. I definitely felt that it should have been singled out for some sort of an award, perhaps a special one. Of course the jurors would have had to have experienced, like I did, both your photo installation and your birthday party 'performance'. The whole production,,,,was a celebratory tour de force and a brilliant idea. I was very lucky to have been part of this.'
